First off I will start with Hello!! My name is Jerry and I am looking at competing at your track next year, I have been reviewing the rules for the clone class and have one question. Most beginners are starting out in the new clone class (like myself) 1) because it is affordable and 2) they are very easily obtained. In my searching, I have purchased a Gator moto kart and my rear tires are 11x7.10.5 and your rules are asking to use a 5.5? Now I ask this question because I dont want to spend anymore money than needed, But if you are wanting to attract "new" racers why wouldnt you fit/make the rules to allow the Gator karts so that new people can just show up and race with out having to buy new rims and tires? I understand that you need to "level" the field but wouldn't it be more economical to just make a tire rule that would follow something like the gator karts already come with to attract new people? Opionions please. PS if all goes well we plan on bringing out 6 karts for the clone class. thanks Jerry

Jerry, Thanks for the question and interest in our track. I placed that rule in for just as you said, to level the field. But with that being said, I had also suspended this rule for the 2010 season and will likely do so for the 2011 season as well. The goal being to build these classes up and then get with the competitors to see how we can keep the karts as equal, and inexpensive as possible. So far by what I've seen, tires are neither a competitive edge or disadvantage. Hope this answered your question and to see you next season.
