Tonight we had our first group of restaurant racers meet at Randy's Roadhouse on US12 in the Irish Hills. A few weeks ago Doug mentioned to me that it would be fun to get some dads and drivers together over Cokes and burgers, and talk about racing. Tonight we had about 15 drivers and parents sitting around a table eating and talking about kart racing. We talked about last years season, it's highlights and it's issues. We also talked about this coming year and what we're looking forward to. We talked about what we could do to help the sport and the tracks we attend. It didn't take long to realize that we were easily the smartest bunch of people in the restaurant! During dinner it was suggested that we do this on a regular basis, so after a little discussion it was decided that we would try to meet monthly, on the 1st Thursday of each month. Tonight we met at Randy's, but are open to other places that we could all fit into. It's an informal thing. Come if you can, don't if you can't. This is an Open Invitation to anyone wanting to come visit with friends over dinner. We haven't chosen our next location but it will likely be somewhere centrally located to those who attend. I'll post the next location as it gets closer. Any questions, or if you would like to come, feel free to get ahold of me at admin@lcsodive.org Thanks, Dan

Looks like the next date for dinner and racin talk will be Thursday, Feb 3rd. I'm sure one of the topics of conversation will be the Springfield Swap Meet which is Saturday, Feb 5th. I know several of us are going and I've heard there are some great deals to be had. So far I've heard a couple requests to meet at Randys again and the people who say they plan to be there are from the Irish Hills area. The location is not set yet, so I would like to hear from other who would like to come. I'll post more as it get closer to that date. Dan

OK, it's next Thursday and it's coming up fast!
I've talk to a few other guys who want to organize a roaming series similar to what the Freedom Kart guys used to do. This could mean exposing many more racers to Palmyra and what a nice track it is.
It's time to get involved unless you plan on the kart fairy keeping the sport alive for you to enjoy.

Thanks for the input Craig, I was beginning to wonder if anyone read this stuff. I had one person suggest going to Adrian but if we don't hear from anyone from over that way I think we'll just stay local.
Being involved benefits everyone. Sitting back and waiting for things to magically improve isn't realistic. For those who just want to show up and participate, maybe you should look into golf. Dan

Absolutely! Thursday, March 3rd. 6:30PM. The location had been requested to be at Jerrys on Wamplers Lake for this month. We're open to other suggestions for the future.
Bring all your friends, family etc. Hope to see you there.
