Below is a link to the Michigan Kart Clubs web site with their big MIS race announcement. Those who attended the monthly Restaurant racers dinner got a little advanced notice of this. This will be a huge event and one that will hit so close to home for many of us. Please monitor the MKC site for further updates. michkartclub.com/blog/Thanks, Dan

There are still many logistics that need to be worked out, but this is going to be an amazing race! The configuration we will be running will be 2.2 miles!
It will be run similar to the way Waterford Hills has been run the past few years. The races are timed rather than a specific amount of laps. Waterford Hills ran 2) 10 minute practices, 2) 20 minute qualifiers and a 20 minute race. The person with the most laps at the end of 20 minutes wins. The first time we ran at Waterford the temps were in the high 90's and after 20 minute heats and races Dominic was exhausted. I remember him laying next to the trailer in the shade and falling asleep during most of the down time. The Sept race should be must easier on the drivers. I believe the times at MIS will be bumped up to 30 minutes. There was discussion at the last meeting on how to handle 4strokes because some certianly won't be able to last 30 minutes with the amount of fuel they can carry.
First things first, Join the MKC, It's only $20!! As many as 100 volunteers will be needed to run this event.
It sounds like there will be a single date in Feb when the pre-entry fees will be significantly reduced. Although since the fee schedule has not been formalized the pre-entry cost also not been determined either. I can say that the savings that was talked about was over 1/3rd. I will pass this along as more info comes available.
Pass all this on to anyone and everyone with a kart.
Thanks, Dan

Just an update on the progress of the MIS race. Classes are being sorted out at this time. Due to insurance restictons is appears the minimum age will be 12 years old. I've recently seen the new track and it looks great! All new pavement and smooth as silk! You can follow the progress through the MKC site at www.michkartclub.comFeel free to ask questions, or sign up to get involved. Thanks, Dan

Just a few updates for the Michigan Kart Club events. The MKC website has a full list of events including Waterford Hills and MIS. The website is now fully automated for registration and payments. You can go on their site and register for any of their events, pay the entry fees and be completely done with that part of the paperwork and so all you have to do is show up, sign in and race. Waterford Hills is a great race and has been lots of fun for us for the past few years that the MKC has been running it. Easy laid back atmosphere and great racing on a great track. It's hard to beat the wide open track with lots of room for passing and for reaching the high speeds. MIS has shaped up to be an amazing event. Kart clubs from Mich, Ohio and Indiana have already put it on their schedules as part of their points series. The track surface for both the oval and road course are brand new and promise to be a great surface to race on. Both the oval and road course will be incorporated into the track layout for the Sept event. We have full access to the NASCAR garages and pit suite roof top observation area for watching the racing action. This is a race that you will not want to miss. Check out www.michkartclub.com for full details or feel free to shoot me an email with any questions. Thanks, Dan admin@lcsodive.org
